At Relay, we take our role as a corporate citizen seriously. We strive to operate responsibly and sustainably, to make a positive difference for our stakeholders, the environment, and the wider communities in which we operate.

Sustainability is a key aspect of our business. Central to this policy commitment is the DES Group Code of Conduct and the Group’s six core values: safety, people, integrity, excellence, relationships and responsibility and four pillars of sustainability – Sustainable and Innovative Solutions; Environmental Protection; Ethics and Compliance; People, Communities and Education.

To support our commitment to sustainability we are aligned Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) where we believe we can contribute at local level through various actions.

We are committed to protecting the environment in which we operate by reducing our environmental impact, preventing pollution and promoting sustainability.

Our People

We recognize that our people significantly contributes to our success and performance, we:

  • undertake regular training and development to ensure our workforce has the necessary competences or skills to work safely; meet client quality and remain current with industry standards and work practices.

  • promote a positive working culture.  We nurture and encourage a no-blame environment; and encourage our people to report any hazards or near misses; also to challenge or report unsafe working practices or conditions and poor environmental or quality practices.

  •  regularly monitor and review our business to drive continual improvement and ensure we consistently achieve the highest standards.  that we continual improvement and development to retain high standards.

We are committed to providing and maintaining working environments that safeguard the health, safety and welfare of all our people and others affected by our business activities and operations.  We operate a well-established management system which complies with ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 standards and is certified by DNV.  

Community

We engage with the local community through a wide range of activities including  donation of time,  collections for local food banks, recycling initiatives and supporting young people in the community.

Governance

We conduct our business activities and operations ethically and in accordance with the law. We have system of rules, policies, practice and procedures which govern the Relay group which are followed ensure this is achieved, this is system supplemented by our management systems.
